Information You Provide
When a name, location, or other search term is entered into a search tool, the query is sent to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Jackson County Busted Mugshots does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. That provider’s privacy policy applies to the query after it is submitted.
If a visitor sends a message through a contact method, the message and supplied contact details may be retained to respond. They are not shared outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data and Cookies
Like many websites, the site may automatically receive basic technical information when a page is loaded. This can include:
- IP address
- browser type and version
- device type and operating system
- pages viewed and time spent on them
- referring website, when available
- date and time of access
Cookies and similar tools help measure how pages are used. Browser settings can block or remove cookies, though some site features may then work differently.
How Information Is Used
Technical and contact information may be used to operate and improve the service. Uses can include:
- maintaining site performance and security
- sending a search request to the selected partner service
- understanding which pages visitors find useful
- finding and correcting technical problems
- displaying advertising that may be relevant to visitor interests
Outside Services and Links
The site links to official jail, sheriff, court, corrections, and public-record resources, as well as certain third-party tools. Once a visitor follows a link, that destination’s privacy practices control. Review the policy of the destination before providing information there.
Advertising providers may also measure activity across websites for interest-based advertising on their own systems. Jackson County Busted Mugshots does not control those providers’ processing.
Who May Receive Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed only as needed to the following types of recipients:
- search partners that process a submitted query
- analytics providers
- advertising networks
- law-enforcement or government entities responding to a valid legal order
Security Limits
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect information, but no internet-connected system can be guaranteed fully secure. Visitors should avoid sending sensitive information through an unverified channel.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor submitted information, contact the site to request its deletion.
Your Information Choices
Subject to applicable law, visitors may ask to:
- receive a copy of personal data held about them
- correct inaccurate personal information
- request deletion of personal information
- opt out of certain processing where available
Requests concerning a government record should be made to the record custodian, such as Jackson County Sheriff Records under Michigan FOIA, MCL 15.231 through MCL 15.246, rather than to this site.
